Diplomats, also known as Foreign Service Officers,   protect their home country’s citizens, create, preserve, and repair relationships between their nation state and other countries. They often engage in complex dialogues and negotiations with international representatives in order to protect their nation’s interests abroad, including economic, political, social, or cultural views.
